A Good Night Out

A side note before I begin...Captain Jack Frost died earlier today of heat exhaustion. Memorial services to be announced...at another time...maybe.

Anyway...
I got a call earlier from Rob, he was down and the Dublin and told me that my presence was being requested (for the second week in a row, lol). Apparently I’ve become quite popular down at that pub. I found this amusing, among other things, so I went down there. When I got there I received a huge welcome from all the people that I know. I feel so loved. I even got a drink bought for me as a ‘thanks’ for driving one of the Darby members home last time I was there.

I played a couple games of 8-Ball again and apparently I’m getting a lot better at it. When I was headed out the door to put my pool cue back in my car I saw somebody waving at me from the shadows. It was mommy Doreen. Evidently she was the person who Rob had called me about. We ended up chatting for a while as well as some general hanging out. She’s so fun.

I went over to see how some of the guys were doing at poker (Yeay free poker Tuesday!) I looked up from one of the tables and saw a familiar face smiling at me. Zack, someone who I’ve known off and on for about the past 7 years had managed to find himself in the same place at the same time. So that’s yet another cool aspect to add to my already good night. Zack and I exchanged numbers and so maybe now it won’t be only every 2 years or so that we get a chance to see / talk to each other.

Ah...another good Tuesday night at the Pub. Well, that’s it in a nut shell. I hope you all enjoyed this episode of Karma’s Blog. Tune in next time. This is Karma...signing off.

Weird Shit!

Weird Shit of the Day.

I was just looking outside and there is still a large softball sized snowball where Captain Frost (my snowman pirate ) once stood. Now for those of you in the PDX area who should know that it was about a week ago that we even had a snow warning. This is pretty impressive. Just a little something that made me smile. :)

Have a Great Week Everybody.

Yeay Snow!!!

It’s SNOWING!!! It started at about 4am last night. There wasn’t that much coming down, and it wasn’t sticking much, but it was enough to make me feel that nice cozy feeling that I get when I see snow for the first time of the year.

I got up today at about noon, which is a little earlier than I have been lately, the snow was still coming down a bit but not very much was sticking nor had much stayed throughout the night. I was planning on going down and getting my snow tires put on today. So I decided to call Les Schwab to see what kind of wait I would be in for. “Full up for today, try again tomorrow morning” is what they told me. I wouldn’t be as worried about it if I didn’t live at elevation 1,500ft. ...or if I was a homebody. But I do and I’m not. So maybe I’ll just have to wrestle myself out of bed hella early tomorrow (well for me anyway).

My only worry is that the roads will be worse than my mommy feels comfortable driving in and that she won’t be able to get home. So, here’s hopping.

Gotta say, if there’s enough snow on the ground tonight though, you can bet your ass that I’m gonna be at the cemetery across the street with my trash can lid, living it up like I’m 10 years old again. WEEEW HOOOOW!!!!!

Tuesday at the Dublin

As some of you may know I’ve been going through a kind of odd time lately, i.e. been kinda bored a lot. There’s not much for me to do after tourney season’s over with and it becomes routine. Now me, not much for wanting to be stuck in a rut, have been a little down because of this. Mind you I love going out 4 times a week to the gaming house. But sometimes I just need to get out and do something different.

So today I went to the cleaners to get one of my costumes ready for the holiday season and proceeded to go over to the Plaid Pantry next door to get a soda. And low and behold who was behind the counter but a good friend of mine, Rob. Ok, so what if I new that he was going to be there. I had told him that I might stop by anyway. So we got to chitty chatting for a bit and he asked me if I would like to take him to the Dublin Pub after he got off work. He had informed me that he was a new addition to Darby O’Gill’s band as their resident Bagpiper. And so I picked him up (not literally mind you) and we went to the Pub.

I remembered that they have pool tables there so I brought in my cue. We played a really close game of stars and stripes. Then Scott showed up and I got to learn how to play a very odd game of darts, don’t ask me to tell you all the rules because I’m still trying to sort them all out in my head. Not too long after that Ken arrived and they all showed me how to play 8 Ball. This got interesting because as the rest of the band and other friends of theirs came in they automatically got added to the game line up. So at one point we had 7 people playing on the same game. It became a little confusing but I managed to win a couple of games. That in and of it’s self is always a good thing.

While the band was playing and the merriment ensued, I herd my name yelled form across the bar. I looked over to find that my old roommate, Jordan, was there. We went through what we’ve both been doing since the last time that we had seen each other (it’d been a couple of years). He introduced me to his new girlfriend, and we just had a very nice chat.

I decided after a bit to go back over to where I was originally sitting and play ‘groupie’. When they got to the “Krechma”, one of their better-known songs, I was coerced into playing Natasha (the woman from the song). Without much hesitation I did and pulled it off without a hitch. I got hoots and hollers from the crowd for my performance. What a rush.

All in all I had a really awesome night. I got to learn new games, meet new people, perform a little number, and I got massively hit on throughout the night. I think I may just have to make this a regular thing.

You are somewhat voyeuristic, and are the intellectual type. The library offers some seclusion (at least in the periodical section) and you never know what hottie is there with the same idea as you.

Latest News About Me

Ok, so I know that I don’t post much in...well, any of my blogs. I mostly post random funnies, survey and quiz shit. But hey, if people really despised it they wouldn’t be my friends now would they.

Lately I’ve even been a little worse about it than usual. I’ve been trying to do more with my days then just sitting mindlessly at the computer. Which is really easy to do on Craven (my PC) cause I am still running on dial-up. I know, I really need to get with the times but unfortunately I can’t get high-speed where I live.

I mean honestly, I live in one of the most centralized areas of Portland, not to mention one of the so called “ritziest”. So why am I like one of the only people that I know that can’t have high-speed. Now don’t get me wrong, I love my house. It’s in the middle of everything and at the same time about 10 miles from anything. So it’s a nice refuge when I just want to get away, but not that far from anything when I don’t.

Right now I’m just wanting to get away from getting away though. I’ve been kinda bored lately. I think that it may have something to do with the season. I’m having difficulties getting motivated to do anything or go anywhere because I don’t have as much ‘play money’ as I used to. So I can’t just go out driving on a whim as much as usual. Which is such a bummer cause that’s one of those things that just makes me so happy. I’m a driving addict unable to get my fix. I need a new hobby.

As far as actual news goes I got into an accident on Sunday. Nobody got hurt except for my poor Sheila who now needs a tiny face lift. Her grill has a minor indent and her hood ornament popped off (I still have it and am waiting for a decent day to try and put it back on). I think that I can do the repairs myself, as far as I can tell it’s merely cosmetic. She just needs a nose job. lol

Well folks I think that’s about all for my ramblings today. I hope to read and respond more to all of everyone’s posts as soon as I can.

With Love and Chaotic Wishes,
Karma C.

Unbelievable

Ok, I was online last night like I often am and one of my MySpace friends, Kaitlyn, says that she wants to show my pictures to one of her director friends. I thought it would be relatively harmless so I said sure. She gets back to me and says that he would like to be added to my friends list. I said ok and he messaged me a few minutes later. Apparently he has a couple of movies that he wants to get made and thinks that I might have the stuff to play a part in one of them. All the while I’m thinking “Is this guy for real?” So he gave me his phone number in Palm Springs and asked if I would be willing to call him today. I checked out the area code that he gave me and sure enough it’s in Palm Springs so I didn’t see any harm in this especially since he lives so far away. And with that being the case this wouldn’t be some “Hey baby wanna come over to my place and get freaky” type situation, so I said sure.

So I called him earlier and we started chatting about movies and life in general and then he asks me if I want to read over one of his scripts to see if I want to have a part in it. I mean it’s not main stream Hollywood or anything but it looks like it has potential. I’m still unsure as to whether or not I’m going to pursue this but I’m giving it some serious consideration.

I wanted to know if this guy was legit so I looked up his name on Google and the results were conclusive to what he had said. I even found out on www.imdb.com that he had a bit part in a movie called “Prozac Nation”. So I’m relatively sure that he’s for real. Still not positive about this whole situation but I’ve always wondered if I could have a chance at becoming an actress. So if all goes well I might get a foot in the door of the main stream acting circuit.

It all seems so unbelievable, but I’m not just going to lead myself into thinking that this is going to be my primary trail on the path to glory and riches or some stupid thing like that. I’m a realist and therefore skeptical still. But like I always say, anything can happen.

In closing I could use a little bit of advice. I value all of your opinions very highly and would appreciate it if any of you could help guide me.

Loves to you all. XOXO

Much Better Day

I got my Sheila back yesterday at about 5:30pm-ish. I waited around all day in anticipation. My mechanic said the night before that it should only be another couple of hours when he got in. I gave him a couple extra hours cause I know how time can fly by when you’re under the hood. So I called him at about 1:00pm, nope still wasn’t done. He told me that he’d call me back when it was done.

At about 3:30pm he calls me to ask if I’m still going to need to be picked up. My mom was still at work and there’s NO WAY that I would ever consider a ride from my male parental unit. And so I told him that yes I did need to be picked up and that I would also be needing to stop by my bank to pull out some money before 5pm if I was going to be able to pay him. He jumped on that, gee ya think he wanted to get paid!? Oh, and that’s another cool thing. I was able to talk my mechanic down by $50 so I feel justified.

At about 6pm she was put back together and ready to go. Which was good because I had a date with Josi to go out to coffee. So I went to the other end of town to the restaurant. Josi had asked if Jariah could come too, so we all had a good time just chit chatting and making fun of each other all night. Until of course they decided to be punk bitches and cut out of there earlier than I had expected. Love you guys. :D

But anyway Sheila’s back, healthy and safe at home. And after that worry being out of the way, and a bit of fun last night, I’m doing much better too.

The End...of my rant. :P

Continuation of Last Post (Good Day / Bad Day)

Ok, so I’m feeling better today than I did last night. I woke up at about 8am in order to call my mechanic to see if he even had the time to work on Sheila today. Turns out that he doesn’t even get into the shop until 9am. I tried to get back to sleep for an hour so that I would be better rested. Yeah, that didn’t work out as I planned. On my way down there I had a couple of close calls because as soon as my car heated up there was steam emanating from my defrosters, thus fogging up the inside of ALL my windows. At first I thought that it was coming from the engine, which kinda made me panic into thinking “oh shit, am I even gonna make it down there?” But I did finally make it down to the shop. As it turns out my heater busted and that’s what the coolant leak is coming from.

Luckily though, the dragging noise was only a shield that had popped loose in the Bike Ramp Massacre. Morons shouldn’t put shit like that in the middle of the street anyway. I don’t care if you live on a dead end street or not. If there’s nobody out there then the ramp shouldn’t be either. Or at least it should be moved off to the side of the road.

After dropping her off I called my mom who I had arranged to get a ride back home from. She had to wait until her lunch break to pick me up so I had to figure out something to do for the next few hours. There’s not that much on the corner where my mechanic works. I used to live in the apartments above the auto shop so I know the area really well. So I started walking, about half a mile to a full mile to the 24hr. Starbucks. It wasn’t nearly as strenuous of a walk as I remember. But then again the last time that I walked that I was about 70lbs. heavier. Never the less though, I got there without a hassle. While I was sitting there a delivery truck pulled up for the liquor store next door. You may not see this as such an unusual occurrence, and you’d be right. The interesting thing about it was that one of the guys unloading the truck was also one of the comedians at Harvey’s last night. Proving once more that this really is just a small world after all.

I should be getting my beloved Sheila back tonight though. So my stress level has come WAY down. There should be another continuation of this blog as soon as I get her back though just for recap...and incase I need to rant about the cost. Just forewarning you all. In any case though I’ll catch you on the flip side.

Karma Out.
